  • Apple: Sorensen Broadcaster (live), QuickTime Streaming server
  • Real networks: RealProducer (live, Mac/PC), RealServer (several non-Mac platforms) ; 'basic' versions are FREE
    • June 14, 2000 "During a morning keynote address at the Streaming Media East conference, RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser announced along with Steve Jobs--who tuned in via satellite--that the company will license Apple's QuickTime streaming format on its RealServer 8 product. Content providers that use RealServer will be able to stream their media offerings using QuickTime in RealNetworks' formats."

ClipBoard-2000 - University of Michigan

"ClipBoard-2000 is a tool which allows faculty to easily record web-based lectures using nothing more than a notebook computer with attached camera. ClipBoard-2000 takes PowerPoint as its input and synchronizes audio, video, PowerPoint, and annotations to produce the on-line lecture. ClipBoard creates a single QuickTime file with up to 6 tracks of information."
