Client/Server Administrative Computing: A Case Study

Mr. Lam will discuss the usage of client/server technology to meet administrative computing needs. He is involved in a project to help the personnel department, library and faculty to work together in the faculty appointment process. More specifically, he has created a network database in a clientserver environment such that different people from various department can access the data conforming to security restrictions. The system eliminates redundant processes and make the faculty appointment process much more easier to manage. Client/Server solutions are the future for solving the administrative computing problem.
