Attend a wedding, at a CALI Conference?!?! But wait, this isn't
just a wedding. This is improvised madness. Okay, yes, so, it
is a typical wedding. Nonetheless, this is the wedding you've
always talked about, snickered about, imagined. Tony 'n Tina's
Wedding satires an Italian-American wedding. The audience attends
the ceremony at the "Chapel of Love," goes through the
receiving line into the rambunctious reception at "Vinnie
Black's Coliseum," participates in the champagne toast, has
dinner surrounded by decor exuding the ultimate "tacky"
banquet hall, and shares in the wedding cake. It's improv, so
as the champagne flows, the wedding party may get sloshed, the
bride could kiss the wrong man at the cutting of the cake, Sister
Albert Maria may dance to the International Medley, and the audience
is part of it all. Italian buffet, champagne and dessert included.
Buses will leave Chicago-Kent promptly at 7:00 pm and make pickups at the Executive Plaza and Holiday Inn Mart Plaza shortly after to arrive at reception by 7:45 for seating. Formal attire is not required. Dinner and desert intermixed with "entertainment" will follow. The buses will at the end of the show. Participants are welcome to miss the bus and partake of Chicago's nightlife in the neighborhood, though transportation back to the hotels will be your responsibility. The theatre is a short cab ride (between $5 and $10) back to the hotels.
